Follow these steps to recruit a friend:

    Log in to World of Warcraft.
    Open the friend list (default: Hotkey O) and click on the tab Advertising a friend.
    Click on Advertise.
    An individual link will be created for "Advertise a friend" that can be shared with your friends.
        Note: This link can be used to create up to four new accounts or to connect existing ones. For further connections a new link must be created, this is possible every 30 days.

The connection between both accounts will remain in effect until the referred player has added 12 months of paid play time. Both advertisers and recruits have the option to terminate the connection themselves. If the referenced account has no active playing time for up to six months, the connection will also be resolved.
